Just about any song by Johnny Cash could be my favorite any day! I have some of his CD's - no Ipod music yet because no Ipod.

Right now? Just got out of the car and Lorreta was on XM. But for today I think I would have to say "Crazy" Patsy Cline. The Admiral likes XM 13 so that was on coming home from Steak & Shake and Patsy will always be my favorite.

Tomorrow? Who knows? Rock, jazz, country, blues.
The world is full of people who can hear a loud bang, feel a sharp pain in their foot, notice smoke trickling from their holster........ And never put it all together.

Funky kingston - toots and the maytals.

yesterday it was resurrection fern, iron and wine.

Thursday it was the general specific, band of horses.

Tomorrow looks like it might be shaping up as when I paint my masterpiece, the band.

Isaac Guillory - Poor Wayfarin' Stranger

Probably the definitive set (Berkeley 1989)
I was luck enough to see him for 10 years at Cambridge Folk Festival, a highlight of the year and open mouthed slack-jawed awe at his mastery.
Saw him play in London with John Renbourn.
I don't remember any of what John did (sorry John!) Isaac was on fire that night.

"I drove all night" by Roy Orbison, which I discovered on (what seemed like) a very long drive at night in freezing fog across Picardy on the way back from England at Christmas.

Other favourites from this trip :

"Street Spirit" and "The Reckoner" by Radiohead
    "Stronger" by Kayne West
    "About you now" by Sugarbabes
    "My Brightside" by the Killers
    Charles

My friend's daughter came to visit Sunday. Her age is in low single digits. So, I listened to the most mind-numbing music about princesses imaginable, over and over again. I smiled and listened with her but kept thinking "Kill me now, kill me now..."

    Re: today's favorite song?

I use I-Tunes to power my stereo. I Tunes on my computer is very strange. In my R&B/Blues "smart" playlist resides my favorite song for yesterday, Burn, Baby Burn by Rev.F.D. Kirkpatrick and Jim Collier. It is a folk song (The Best Of Broadside 1962-1988 (disk 5)). I also have new age music from Enya in there, alternative music from The Clash, country from Emmylou Harris (At The Ryman) and reggae music from Bob Marley.
Clearly, my smart folders are not that smart. The strange thing is that I really like some of the combinations, making me consider that the playlists may be smart because they do not follow the parameters they are given exactly.
My favorite song for today is Cattle Call by Emmylou Harris (At The Ryman).
"I don't like lizards", Frank Reynolds.

"At one time there existed a race of people whose knowledge consisted entirely of gossip", George Carlin.
