Professional Reviews
Over the past year and a half, we've added and improved a lot of features on PCPhotoREVIEW.com and PhotographyREVIEW.com. We added new message board software, a new gallery system, started posting photography news regularly - and now we're getting serious about professional reviews. We want to provide as much photography-related information as possible on PCPhotoREVIEW.com and PhotographyREVIEW.com. This is the most friendly photography community on the Internet and we want to give you everything you need, on the Web site where you feel most at home.
You've probably noticed our new professional digital camera tests and reviews. There are links on the Home page, the main reviews page, and in the forums, and sample images in the galleries. I've written reviews for the Canon G6 and the Konica Minolta DiMage A200, and other professional photographers Mark Eastman and Larry Chen have contributed digital SLR reviews. Over the next few months we'll be adding a lot more professional digital camera reviews. I want PCPhotoREVIEW.com and PhotographyREVIEW.com to be known for excellent professional camera reviews as well as owner-posted photo gear reviews.
I know there are other places you can go on the Internet for detailed digital camera reviews. But few of those reviews are written by working, professional photographers. Lists of specs and features are great. But they don't tell you how well a camera actually works when you're trying to take pictures. All of our pro reviews will be written from the point of view of experienced photographers who are actually using the cameras to take pictures. We'll make sure to give you all the features and specs, too. But the main emphasis will always be on how well the cameras help (or don't help) you take good pictures.
Please let us know how we're doing with our pro reviews. Every review will have a link to a discussion, so you can ask questions or give your opinion on the review. We want the reviews to be useful to you. So we're interested in your feedback.
