I have just gone from D200 to D7000. D200 is a very good DSLR with good image quality and many features. I didn't really need the upgrade bu decided to treat myself instead of leaving all the money behind. I have seen many good D200's going for under $500 in the US. Some for a few $ more with the battery grip. I still have mine but have not decided how to sell it. If you have Craigs list in Dehli, that's where I would start.

Hello, everyone. Brand Newbie here, and I'm already enjoying your posts. Thanks for the good info. I have a Nikon D40 that I love even though it's not the newest model. I've checked out the digitutor for it a few times, but that page seems to have been removed from the internet. Does anyone know it it can still be accessed anywhere? Thanks in advance.

Don, the info for the D40 has been taken down but I would suggest getting a Magic Lantern DVD on the D40. I have purchased one for all three of my cameras and find it helpful and worth the money. Here is a link to the DVD at Amazon. It says Hardcover which is usually a book that comes with it but the DVD alone would be worth getting. Something you might consider, Jeff

    You can find it here....

I just found the video, not the camera. As far as I can tell the D800 is not going to be available in France before the middle of April.

I don't mind too much. I did 1000 pictures with the D300 last weekend (theatre performance and a studio shoot). I am really pleased with the results. A D7000 would have been even better (6400 ISO for the theatre piece).

I have the D800 now and it's superb. Very happy with it.

But right now I'm on holiday and when I'm touristing I take something good but less expensive (the D200 - it's raining a lot in Berlin right now and me and the camera a getting very wet quite regularly)

My D200 is so nice to use. When I look at the results at 100% on Lightroom all the pictures look sharp and in focus, there isn't that extra magnification of the D800 to show me the errors I made. And there are so few options in the menus, only 11 focussing points - it's a relief to go back to something simple.

    Here is the latest lineup.

    Nikon | Imaging Products | Digitutor | D7100
    Nikon | Imaging Products | Digitutor | D600
    Nikon | Imaging Products | Digitutor | D5200
    Nikon | Imaging Products | Digitutor | D3200

The D800 is mentioned lower down.
There is a Digitutor for the D4 but if you don't already know how to use a camera I don't think you should buy a D4

Hi Alanah and welcome to this forum. It has been very quiet here as of late so you may not get too many replies.
Regardless, I think you need to narrow done in what type of dslr you are looking for, for example DX or FX format, along with what type of photography you are interested in.
Also your total budget is important as well. Enlighten us a bit more and we'll take it from there.
