Nikon D50 Mirror Problem

Hi Folks,

This is my first post here. I have a Nikon D50 that loaned out to a friend. They "cleaned" it before returning it to me and screwed up a mirror on the inside. Does anyone know what the name/part number of this mirror is and whether or not I can get a replacement for it?

Some friends you have there.

I would send it to a qualified repair shop. The mirror is in itself a delicate piece which has to swing up when taking the photo and quickly back. A lot of things depend on the mirror and how accurately it is placed - exposure system and the autofocus. There may even be some electronic components on the mirror itself. Big job
