    Mirror, Mirror On The Mall

I was struck by the reflections in nearly every window. The angle I shot this from however, kept the top window frames from being straight, and no matter how much I skewed, distorted, and straightened, I couldn't fix it. Anyhow, your comments, suggestions, or advice is greatfully appreciated.

I'm not sure what program your using to edit photos, but I could easily straighten this in photoshop. I really like this subject and your composition/framing is very good.
This is one of the best I've seen from you yet. . . . certainly breaking your slump

You might could crop it just below the black frame, but it really doesn't bother me that much. I also agree with Gary it looks as though your slump is ending. Two good ones in a row, well done. Maybe a hat trick?????

    John,

Personally I think it looks better if you crop out the broken window. But I agree with the Gary and Greg - slump over.

Thanks guys. I'll go back and try to give straightening one more go. I'm using MS Digital Image Pro 9 on this machine. I have PSE 5 on the other.

I like the image in the window pane of the graffiti figure in the top left. I almost wonder if there is something you could do with just that one pane? I like the shot as a whole too, but that one figure keeps drawing my eye from the overall composition.

    John,

Nice shot. Personally, l really like reflections as they have so much potential for creative photography. Having said that, why would you want to straighten out the distortion of the reflection? Isn't that what the reflection is all about? Or, did I miss something. Finally, I would crop the photo on the right to remove the grey window, the electronic boxes on the roof, etc. I like the brick work in the lower portion of the photo. It works with the distortion of the reflection.

Great comments from everyone. I'm going to get back there and do another shoot. This is too good of a spot to not investigate the potential more.

John - It's a good pic and an interesting twist of geometrics, but I think I've crop off some of both sides, make it more vertical instead of square.

Slump! What Slump? Way to go John. You nailed it and the distortion in the windows does not bother me in the least. I think it helps make the image.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??
