That is quite odd...even at 300 dpi (a very very high print resolution) the D50 can print natively at 6.67x10. I'd say either something happened and you brought in some sort of small JPEG file by accident, or you might have switched quality by accident. Are you shooting Large/Fine or Large/Normal JPEGs? Or are you shooting RAW?

The quality settings (FINE< NORMAL< BASIC) only effect the compression ratio of an image.
The size setting (LARGE Heres an example of the same shot at large basic and small basic at 100%. At 5x7 theres not much difference that would be noticeable between a large fine or large basic,
but there is a huge difference between a large (6MP) and small (1.5MP) jpeg image.

Ok, this is or should have been the way the last post appeared.

Probably just a technical problem of some kind that can be easily fixed. I've seen 20x30" prints come out sharp from a D50, and other 6.1MP cameras. I will be doing a few of my own soon, from my D50. I have printed some very sharp 8x12 prints with no problems.
