    Wide-macro

    Hercules beetle in wide-macro with rainforest habitat, Selva Verde, Costa Rica. Nikon D300, 10.5mm + 1.5 TC, two SB600 strobes in remote. This is the style I prefer

    What a strange looking critter! It looks like something left over from the dinosaurs. I love that you included the a view of the environment.

    Another shot which requires being 1-2 inches away from the subject, in this case a beetle almost as large as a human hand ! I'm totally in love with this technique, which however requires a very scenic background to be totally successful...

    THIS PHOTO IS AWESOME. I hope one day I will know how to and have the technique to accomplish photos like this!
