    Smile What's your day job?

I think most here do not do photography for profession? So what is your "day job"? What do you guys do for a living?

Me.. I am a stay at home mom for now. Two daughters. One will be 5 and the other will be 2. You would think that I would be able to get out more and get lots of photo's since I do not "work". But I do not. :cryin:

    Re: What's your day job?

Up until a week ago I was an over the road truck driver... and loathed it! I had been saving some money for a while so I could find a different line of work. When we had all of our snow fall, I asked for a leave of absence... I guess I should stop taking so many pi ct ur es and look for a job before I have to go back to driving a truck

Being a stay at home mom isn't work?

lol Paul.. that's why I put "work" in quotation marks ;)

Truck driver. You must have seen a lot of neat things on long drives huh? I love cross country drives. Or at least I did. When I was a kid and didn't have any worries. Just "along for the ride" lol

Well I think its good that your are taking advantage of your "time off" I hope you find a job that you enjoy!!

I don't have a "day" job ... I lurk in the shadows of the night .... I am what is called a "headerman" we run high speed machines that produce rivets, fasteners, and electrical contacts .. mostly automotive applications ... fun and challenging ... been doing it now for 16+ years ....

I am a salesman for an industrial equipment manufacturer. I won't name them here, but it rhymes with 'Toyota'....

I have a fairly large (6 counties) sales territory, so it gives me the opportunity to stop and take pics at a variety of natural settings all over SW Ontario.

LOL - I guess he's a movie extra or an actor and that's why his avatar is from the back view so we don't find out that he's really George Clooney.

    Re: What's your day job?

I am a professional crazy man and love the job

I am an arborist by trade(18 years worth), so I am outside in the elements working if there's light(rain, snow, 98 degrees....). Hard job by all means, but I love it...... usually. Oh and I get to drive a truck that I don't care if you're brave enough to cut me off(read cars are speed bumps).

I left the job for a few to be a grocery manager/ night crew chief, but inside work isn't my deal.

Loupey is a stunt double for cheech maron

    Re: What's your day job?

I don't know if it's full time, but Loupey has done some modelling. There's a post here somwhere with one of the ads. He's holding some kind of rat!

I'm a photolab manager. Fun, fun, & more fun! Here's a few favorite questions:

    "what's a megapixie?"
"So, this camera has 10MP that makes it the best right?"
"What kind of memory card is this?" (they are holding it in their hand)

    My all time favorite sale:

    Him:
"I want to shoot for national geographic, I was looking at this little Kodak, it has 8MP, so it should take great photos, right?"

    Me:
"Well, what do you want to shoot?"

    Him:
"you know, lions, bears, birds, the usual, will the 3x zoom be enough?"

    Me:
    "you bet!"

BTW... no I normally would not have told him it's the right choice, but there's more to the story, including his bad attitude, and presumtions he made.

Ooooh classified Cant be anymore classified than my husbands job. Hes a nuclear engineer for the USN. There is a whole huge room on the ship that I am not even allowed to peek into. Very few civilian workers are even allowed in there.

For the past 10 years I have had an insurance agency. For the 25 before that I managed our family business which was an auto parts store. To prepare for these exciting careers I majored in broadcasting and journalism. Go figure.

I work in the digital imageing department for Lands' End. Right now I'm working mostly with spreadsheets, but hopefully I will be leaving excel behind, and doing more with Photoshop. This will be my 15th year with the company, but I have only worked in this dept. for about a year now.

Oops, I missed this thread earlier. I work for a real estate agent and manage the website and marketing (with absolutely zero experience in either field). Part-time and a lot of fun.

Loupey is a kept man which leaves him with tons of free time to take great photos.

SmartWombat, I saw "O" in Vegas and LOVED it!! Couldn't afford to see all of the others. Saw Quidam! here at home and loved it as well.
