    On the Trail Again

Finally got some time to hit the local trails this weekend. A beautiful weekend it was!

I crossed paths with a jogger much older me. He stopped just long enough to exclaim, "It doesn't get any better than this. It's a great day to be alive!"

    What an inspiration.

    Yes it was.

Just two to share. Both subjects drenched with morning dew.

Very nice. Somehow the flower looks to be the happier of the two. - TF

Very nice Loupey. Was the first one the 300mm with tubes?

Beautiful Loupey! I also would like to know what lens you used.

    Re: On the Trail Again

    Thanks, everyone.

The flower was with the Canon 180mm macro, the cardinal with the Canon 500mm. It was the first time I hiked with two lenses but I knew the morning dew would produce some neat shots.

    Re: On the Trail Again

Eric, Paul, Roger - many thanks for the kind comments.

Roger, no I don't think this flower is related to the pitcher-type plants. Just some small wildflowers (about the size of one's end of index finger) and oriented horizontally. I saw a hummingbird come buzzing through drinking nectar but I missed her. Would have been an awesome shot with the dew.
