Talking Underwater in South Australia with Panasonic DMC-FT1

Hey guys, I thought you'd be interested in seeing the results of shooting in <5 metres of water, using ambient light only with Panasonic's 12 megapixel waterproof point n' shoot, the DMC-FT1. The subjects vary, but all shots are taken under these conditions, and on South Australia's rocky reefs.

You can see more images at my RedBubble portfolio.... enjoy!

yep, I'm fond of it. I don't have a dive license, so I snorkel with a weightbelt to take my pictures. That requires good lungs and an extra steady hand ;)

Thank you for sharing these images - we hardly ever get underwater N&W images.

Something I've always wanted to do. But haven't found a way to move the ocean closer to me.

Thanks for the words of appreciation, Loupey. If you're a decent swimmer (and have your cameras insured) I'd take a look at ewa-marine's range of affordable custom soft-housings for going beneath the waves ;) http://www.ewa-marine.com/

The water's warming up here in South Australia as we head towards Summer... so I'll be sure to share more of my aquatic adventures

    Thanks for the compliments, gentlemen!

Eric: you should consider snapping up one of these cameras and hitting the surf with it

In the USA, I believe the camera has a slightly different model number: try DMC-TS1.
