    Sora - cute little rail

I came upon this Sora early this morning but it was deep in the reeds and I could not got a shot. When I returned about 30 minutes later, I was pleased to find that it was more in the open.

Do these guys run with their tails up? I think I saw one once at the nature center this spring, but all I was getting a clear view of was the flash of white under its tail before it would vanish into the reeds again.

That does sound like their behavior, they don't like to stay out in the open.....In fact the bird is compressed laterally allowing it to navigate through the reeds easily.
