    Saltmarshy goodness

Spent some time at a saltmarsh exploring what I could do with a very long lens and cattails. Here are the good shots.

    and a b&w conversion I think works well -

All taken w/my manual Olympus 65-200 (which becomes roughly a 130mm to 400mm on my 4/3rds camera) zoom at wide open or slightly stopped down to 5.6 to limit the depth of field.

I love cattails. I think the first of this set is my favorite.

Thanks much. It was very peaceful to be at this location despite the rather wicked looking aspect of the cattails. To me they always look sort of pathetic in winter.
