    Rollers vs Hawks

Have you heard of roller pigeons?

    http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/...awk.killer.cnn

I had never hear of them until I read about them a while back on a birding blog I frequent. You can check out the blog here:

Be sure to click on the links to his original blog entries towards the bottom of todays post to read more about it, and see how some from the pigeon community responded to his post.

I find it hard to believe that some of these people feel justified in killing an animal for doing exactly what it's supposed to do to survive.

Typical of man's need to show once again that we are top predator. Idiots.

    Re: Rollers vs Hawks

I think it's very interesting that these people come up with "justification" for what they are doing. Would they go swimming in a river full of aligators and then complane when the gators come after them?

They are setting out an easy meal for the hawks, and then get upset when they hawks takes advantage of it.

Sure they spend a lot of time working with these birds, but hey, I spend time with my dogs too. It doesn't mean I'm going to let them off the leash in an area where they could get into trouble.

I would beat a man to near death if I seen them harming a protected species. All birds of prey are protected in some way.
