    Osprey from today

I was looking around and spotted this Osprey leaving a tree. I had about 1 to 11/2 seconds to raise my camera aim and shoot before it went behind some trees and vanished. I felt lucky that I managed to get a picture at all. It was several hundred feet away from me at the time. I had my camera on 4.5 frames a second and took two identical shots while I managed to get him in the clear, Jeff

    Re: Osprey from today

You folks are probably thinking I am exaggerating but if you look at he nest in this tree there is a forks going up from the nest and the bird is setting on the right fork about three feet above the nest. When it took off it went behind the limbs on the right and disappeared. As soon as it took of I raised and held down my shutter button at 4.5 FPS and got two pictures before it went behind the limbs, Jeff

I can see one leg and his back end. That's a big nest. Is this the start of breeding season in MS?

I'm not sure if it is or not. What you see a little lower is the old nest, they decided to build a new one. The Osprey were gone for several and have now returned, Jeff
