Nature Center Today (fairly image heavy)

Nice and sunny, a little blindingly so with the snow, but made for a nice walk. Lots of variety out there today

This guy's new to me... Brown Creeper? Love the beak.

    Squirrel on the Run

    Squirrel on a Wire

    Male Downy

    Junco

    Hairy Woodpecker

    Squirrel Thief

    Beware Falling Nuthatches!

    White Breasted Nuthatch

Red Belly, behind a ton of branches unfortunately

    Female Downy

Red Breasted Nuthatch, best I could get

    Downy Taking Off

    Sorry, No Solicitors

And of course the obligatory deer.. These are two fairly tame yearlings that are often around.

Got some good reflections in the eyes...

Nice series. I bet you enjoyed being out. Love the 'falling nuthatch'. I have noticed that they often take off that way. - TF

It was definitely great to be out, OC. Nice to have a sunny day in Chicagoland once in awhile.

Thanks Paul, are the Creeper's less common or just hard to spot and get a shot of? I took a couple dozen shots but very few turned out well... they're fast!

ALWAYS MOVING, hard to spot, extremely high pitched call notes and less numorous than most birds in winter....
