    The National Parks post

At first this thread was going to be a shot of Grand Canyon I took last October. I posted it in the Viewfinder to pass the time till I can start scanning slides and posting them.

Then I thought... why not make a National Parks post out of it? To go along with the theme posts we have here. I think we have enough photographers with enough passion for our National Parks (that includes the National Parks of ALL nations) to really make a nice thread here. All scenics, nature, wildlife, and landscapes are welcome, as long as it was taken inside a National Park. State parks, too, if you must. But let's keep the bulk of it on the national ones. Let's see the icons, the cliches, as well as the rarities, flora, and critters, too.

Okay enough blabbing let's see your National Parks! And don't hesitate if someone already posted a shot from your park.

    Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA.

    Chunk

Perfect example of what I was thinking for this post. I have always wanted to see Zion, hopefully now that I am basing in the Southwest I'll have my chance

And all the better that it was taken on a backroad

    Let's see some more!

Rick, you always wanted to see Zion...

These were all taken in Zion this spring. The first 2 are scans from Velvia. The first image is part of the trail that leads to the top of Angels Landing. Angels Landing is the big rock in the 2nd. I was attempting a digital IR look on the last one.

    Do National Monuments count?

These were taken in Colorado National Monument, also this Spring.

Well, I'm a little overwhelmed at all these pics. Not sure mine are as colorful, but here they are. These were all taken at Red River Gorge area in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Very nice. I especially like the reflections in Yosemite. I hope I can get to that park soon.

North Rim of the Grand Canyon

Here's a panorama I stitched together from about 11 rotated shots of one of the views from the north rim. The original pano is 10600 pixels wide and 2382 pixels high. Following are 3 panels from it - left to right.

Since Rick started this with a Grand Canyon picture, I thought I would post a few of my own from November 2004. As you can tell from the last pic, my wife and I were freeeeezing. Like my "GC" beanie?

Ok, my last batch from Zion. I think I have posted these before, at least in my gallery if not in the forums.

Chunk, I think I have a picture of the same tree at home (I'm at work). I was there in mid-October, and it was awesome! I'll see if I can post that shot and some others this evening.
