    Chunk

Perfect example of what I was thinking for this post. I have always wanted to see Zion, hopefully now that I am basing in the Southwest I'll have my chance

And all the better that it was taken on a backroad

    Let's see some more!

Rick, you always wanted to see Zion...

These were all taken in Zion this spring. The first 2 are scans from Velvia. The first image is part of the trail that leads to the top of Angels Landing. Angels Landing is the big rock in the 2nd. I was attempting a digital IR look on the last one.

    Do National Monuments count?

These were taken in Colorado National Monument, also this Spring.

Well, I'm a little overwhelmed at all these pics. Not sure mine are as colorful, but here they are. These were all taken at Red River Gorge area in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Very nice. I especially like the reflections in Yosemite. I hope I can get to that park soon.

Chunk, I think I have a picture of the same tree at home (I'm at work). I was there in mid-October, and it was awesome! I'll see if I can post that shot and some others this evening.

Okay, so I was wrong. I don't have that tree. Just a similar one. But here are a couple of my NP shots anyway. Zion and Bryce Canyon

Very Nice Paul. What a great sky in that Bryce Canyon shot. The days I was there in June was when they had some wildfires going on a ways to the west and the air was really smoky and dreary.

    Re: The National Parks post

This thread is really calling out to me: "Go West, Young Man!"
    Well - not so young.
But the parks out there look incredible.
My EX wife nagged & nagged about getting to the Grand canyon. I always found excuses to not go (with her, anyway! ).
But now that my SO is an artist, I don't think I have that excuse.

I have hunfreds of pics from Acadia. When we were there this summer, the sun shone only onthe day we drove up there & the day we drove home. The entire week there it was too foggy to see very much. Went up for sunset several times, never could see it.
After seeing these pics, I am embarassed to post mine.

Except this one. I am embarassed by this one not because of the photography, but because of what a fellow Park visitor did here. Check out this bracnh: YECH! Whoever did this should be ashamed of themselves.

And another that shows what the sky looked like every day.

    Hey Chunk.

I don't have a clue about which NP it's in, but is that a bristlecone pine?

It's in Bryce Canyon and I'm not sure what species - Ponderosa maybe? It's completely dead and the roots are eroded out of the surrounding soil.
