My best to date..

Today I went searching for hawks, falcons, and eagles. I found a website of a birding club in our county that has "hot spots" for different species of birds. I only had a couple hours but manged to get a couple good shots after finding this guy. I also had a shot a t a red shoulder hawk, great egret, and a northern harrier, and I managed to blow them all.Gotta be snaky with these birds..camouflage next time.

This guy hit the brakes when he saw something on the ground..He stopped right in front of me..

Great idea about following your local birding group.

I'm a member of our local one as well and you can't beat it for up-to-the-minute sighting reports in addition to being able to tap into some very knowledgeable folks.

Loupey, you are absolutely correct. I had spent hours and hours and tanks of gas searching for birds with limited results.
As soon as I got involved with people who knew what they were doing it made shooting and finding birds so much better. Tomorrow I'm heading out all day looking for rare species in the area. Probability is low of finding any, but the landscapes should be good with spring starting to bloom the orchards in the valley and the grass green from all the rain. What better way to spend a day
