The title described it well. What makes you think it was misleading?

Thanks! We don't have any of those around here!!!

As for the title, it might be due to my UK English....but if you say in the UK "I got a quickie yesterday afternoon", most people would think you meant something entirely different Involving a woman...

Mette, it is the same over here. The reason I put it that way is it may get you to take a look at my photo and it can also work for having to take the picture fast, Jeff:thumbsup:

I always wondered what a Mocking Bird looked like.
Looks like her/his wings have some neat colors in them.
    Thanks for posting it.

You bird guys are getting me hooked on this. Trying to capture the small fast little creatures is quite a feat.

Mocking birds don't really look all that interesting. They're mostly just shades of gray with some black and distinctive white bands on the wings (visible in flight). What makes them interesting is their call. They sing loud, long, and diverse songs. I've heard a few sing well into the night.

If I saw this bird in my neck of the woods I would have thought it was a young Gray Jay.
Man, I have a lot to learn.
Now off to google to see if i can find a soundbite of a Mocking Bird.

I think you'll be out of luck in finding a 100% accurate song track of a mockingbird... do you know why?

Mockingbirds, as they're name suggests, like to imitate other bird's songs, and they do a very good job at it too. I have read stories of them imitating hawk calls, so little feeder birds get scared and fly into cover, thus leaving a whole feeder for the mockingbird! They are also known to imitate human-related sounds, like cell-phones, car beeps... and even camera-shutters. They also have they're own songs, just that it is often "mixed up" with other ones... you never know for sure what bird that is singing cheerfully in the bushes... unless you manage to see it.
