Heron, Hawk, and some 'hopper hardcore

Took the bikes out to Shark Valley (Everglades) yesterday. Wildlife was sparse except for the mosquitoes, but managed a few shots...

You did manage to get some good ones out there. Looks like it wasn't too slow of a day, Jeff

    Jeff,
This area is usually teeming w/ birds this time of year. The heron was one of only two we spotted and it was actually taken from the truck window on the way out of the park. In a 16 mile ride we saw exactly 2 aligators 2 herons 1 egret 1 hawk and a handful of mockingbirds, that's it. Took 13 shots all day. (Compared to my last trip to the Anhinga trail where I spotted over 50 specicies of birds including a kingfisher, a half dozen crocs, and countless gators)

Very nice shots, that one of the hawk with the catch light is my favourite.
