Yarrow, how big are they? They look a lot like what we call Richardson ground squirrels or gophers, they also look a lot like groundhogs = woodchuck (?). Gophers are native to the prairies of southern Canada and parts of the northern US prairies, groundhogs are much more widely dispersed (see links). Regardless of what they are, if they are in your garden, you may want to trap them because they multiply faster than rabbits and can be very destructive in gardens. :thumbsup:
