    Grand Canyon Sunset

Back from my trip to Zion, Bryce and Grand Canyon (Glad I am not there now). This photo was taken of the Southeastern side of a sunset. It really colored the clouds.

    Re: Grand Canyon Sunset

hb1944, nice image. Is this one picture or is it an HDR image? I have started shooting sunsets and sunrises using an HDR approach and CS5 to merge them. It does a pretty good job, but now I am hooked on HDR and well, you know what happens when a photographer gets "hooked" on something.

    Regards,

This particular image is not an HDR althought I am also hooked on HDR's and shot a lot in the three national parks we visited. I will be posting some of them for evaluation.

    Re: Grand Canyon Sunset

This must have been beautiful to watch !!

About the photo, I have a few suggestions
The reds seems to saturated, and the ground seem a bit underexposed, these can be probably improved with some PP.
The view seems a bit compressed, probably a panorama would have shown more of the grandness of the scene.

    Re: Grand Canyon Sunset

I love it just the way it is. The canyon seems to almost mirror the sunset with the way you have composed the shot. Although the reds saturation probably could be dialed back a bit... if this is what you saw.. then it's perfect =)
