    Easy Pickin's

The red-wing chicks have hatched and so every clump of reeds along the banks has hungry nests in it.

The females are flighty and easily flushed but the males are confrontational and bark nasties at me. Easy to get up close and personal in their personal space.

But getting in-flights of the males was actually kind of tough - they have a drooping flight and so just when I get them framed and focused, they fall out of the viewfinder just before they land. They also prefer to land behind you and get spooked if you look directly at them.
