    Drive By Shooting

Taken while travelling 70 MPH on I 55 in Arkansas. I would spot the bird, roll down the window, and shoot at 5 fps while passing it. Got a great workout on panning. Looks to me like they are all Red Tail Hawks.

For those who might be curious, D200, 80-200mm f2.8, RAW mode. These are simple batch conversions to Jpegs, and cropped and resized for PR. I'm going to do some real post processing on the RAW files when I get the time.

    Re: Drive By Shooting

Speed - so were you driving and shooting at the same time? If so, that's darn good one-handed shooting or some good knee-steering.

I should have clarified - my buddy Brad was driving, I was riding shotgun.

Panning and shooting through a telephoto lens while driving is incredibly dangerous.

Thank you! I thought they came out fairly well, all things considered.

Technically, I was riding and shooting.

But the hawks were shot while we drove by, hence the "drive by shooting" title.

That second one is especially good. Looks like a great way to practice panning!
