    Coming and Going

    300mm alone (hey I don't always use the 2x or tubes )

Sat crouched and cramped among reeds and inches from falling into the water while sweating like a pig in 90-degree, bright sunny day while weaing work slacks and dress shoes ut:

Damselflies thrown in just because I don't want to start a new thread. It was shot with a tube though.

These are just intense! That last one is one in a million. Both the colors and the subject.

Dress shoes, hmmm? Maybe that's the key. I'll just get out the wingtips next time I strap on one of the big 2.8 macro lenses.

    Great Photos.

    Re: Coming and Going

Thanks for the nice feedback, everyone. I especially appreciate the comments on that last one as I was happy to salvage just one image from those two.

Here are two close-but-no-cigar versions that I didn't like:

The first image: wanted to use the cool colors of the open water to compliment the male. I didn't like how the colors didn't make the male stand out enough.

The second image: wanted the eye to see only the female. But the male ended up too OOF.

    Thanks again!

    Re: Coming and Going

Got another shot Friday that I'm pleased with. Both the male and female in focus. The tips of the male's wings could be better but with the wind - I'll keep it

    Thanks again!
