Kentucky Elk and other fun in between (Lots of pics)

So i went to Kentucky to do a week and a half worth of thesis field work, and three weeks later i'm finally home! the good news was i got to go out with the Elk researchers (almost daily) and helped them catch elk calves. It was an awesome experience. But i'm only back for today before heading out to help work on another students field work. So heres a quick few pics in the little time i have. i'll probbably slowly post pics from this trip.

This is a brainer that we put down. do not approach wild bull elk!

we came around a bend and these guys were jsut cresting the hill about 200m in front of us. The big rack is a 5x5 and still growing... he'll make for a big set of antlers come fall.

Thanks for looking, i know it was alot, but i got so many good pics.

    Love the cresting elks shot!

Reminds me of those western movies with cowboys on a hill
