    Cape Gannets

Visited one of only two breeding colonies of this specie - one is on the West Coast of RSA and the other on an island in the bay where we live - the latter wholly restricted and not possible to approach. Our vantage point was not ideal from a lighting perspective but thought I would post anyway as they are such attractive birds. Never had the opportunity to try photographing them before!

    Re: Cape Gannets

They look very similiar to the gannets that frequent the coast waters of the northeastern US in the winter.

    Nesting images. score!!!!

    Re: Cape Gannets

The Gannet you refer to Paul is probably the Northern Gannet, the other specie being the Australian Gannet - thanks for commenting.
