Very nice photograph. A little dark and perhaps a little late in the day as most of the lighting is gone, but it still came off rather well.
    good work

    Re: Cape Hatteras

The coast was nearly clouded over at about 1000 feet as I raced out to cape Hatteras to try to get this shot. As I drove south the clouds started dissipating, and by the time I got to the cape they were nearly gone. By the time I'd set up, the sun was just above the horizon and all of the clouds were gone. I was really hoping for some light reflecting off the bottoms of a cloud layer with the lighthouse in the foreground. Can't rely on Mother Nature... Instead I darkened this a bit, looking for that deep dark sky look. Didn't quite accomplish it.

Now that I have finally gotten out and explored a bit here, I plan on revisiting this area. There are a lot of historic lighthouses along this stretch, along with the point, although disputed, of the first powered flight.

I like the way the remaining sun lights up the red base of the lighthouse. Does the lighthouse lean to the left?

Beautiful shot. Did you use a blue grad filter?

This is a lovely shot but it needs the tilt corrected to make it the best it can be. Hit Ctrl T in PS(E) and drag out the handles until your happy with the correction for both the lighthouse and the building at the base.
