I got to looking at that pic, and I was thinking about the RAW conversion. I have never been happy with it. It was a very under exposed image, but at the time I had a 5 year old version of ACR, and I couldn't get it lightend up without ruining it. So , I went back with CSIII and the latest ACR version and came out with this.

    Original for comparison...

    Better, eh?

Here are three of mine with bokeh I like.

    Image #1: Nikon D200 w/70 - 200mm f/2.8 Nikkor VR Lens
    Image #2: Nikon D200 w/400mm f/4 Tamron MF Lens
    Image #3: Nikon D200 w/400mm f/4 Tamron MF Lens
(Can you tell why I kept the manual focus Tamron lens when I switched from my Nikon F3 to my D200?)

I would have to agree that the re worked one is a tad better. But I will also say this. This image is so good, that really either two will work. The slight darkness of the original simply changes the mood, but not the picture. Does this make sense?

Thanks Jgredine, I agree with your serpent edit, the deeper green hues make for a better pic. Nice one!

    Thanks guys!

I just felt the first was so dark. CSIII has more, and better options for lightening an image than CS did. He here is the original untouched version, save for resize and save for web of course.

I have to agree Bob, thats a fantastic shot. I love how clean and unmodulated the green looks in the background. So nice it almost looks Photoshopped. J/K

Finally, the wild roses are starting to bloom

Never seen this before, the rose bud is over six feet high and growing inside the canopy of a willow tree....
