No fish, though. ;) It's actually a different bird than the first one.

First I must ask how you took this snowy egret's image from below ;)

Then I must let you know that the last 45 days I have been working, counting hawks or documenting the 2 hawkwatches or watching RAIN on my day off

The watch is over as of TONIGHT and one week left of getting images together to making a digital slide show, powerpoint presentation and a huge project report(I am basicly just supplying the image and some help thereafter)

After that , hopefully I can find birds to photograph!!!

I think I have a picture of the same bird on page 3. Paul identified it as a dark-eyed junco. Would you agree?

    Re: Today's Catch

You found a piliated cashing food for the winter! They DO NOT nest this time of year, but do sleep in cavities still. That is where it should be all winter.

Here is a young owl that was learning to fly, it landed next to our house. Mom was watching VERY close as I took the picture. They have moved on now, there was two babies and two parents, they left after one of the babies was killed by a power line.

Yep, it is a Great Horned, I tried to get good pics of the mom but I didn't have a good camera then.
The Mallard is actually wild, it was in a lake by a park that we were visiting. There was a bunch of them swimming with seagulls.

Can you tell what this is, Paul? I was very happy to see him, but he happened by when I had my camera set for something totally different. Still in all, I kinda like it.
