    Best birder book(s)???

Any books out there that are 'must haves' for bird ID?

Also, any good books for bird feeders, putting several up, and attracting certain birds?
The first step is BEING THERE to take it...

    THE SIBLEY GUIDE TO BIRDS.

The must have for all birders , but a peterson's or nat geo is good too and a bit easier to travel in the field with.

I don't really know of any books or links to share for feeders, but most birds will eat a seed mix and or black oil sunflower seeds and finches love thistle.

One of the best I have found is "Birds of North America" published by Dorling Kindersley. It uses a fully integrated photographic approach to bird identification. It is definitely not a field book, but it works well for me when I have pictures from the field to identify. As well, the National Wildlife Federation "Field Guide to Birds of North America" by Edward S. Brinkley is also one I find useful. HTH.

For the second part, I just go to someplace like the BirdForum and ask.
