    Bearded Mountaineer (Peru)

This beautiful species of hummingbird is endemic to southern Peru. There is one reliable spot to find them but they seem to move around the area a great deal. One day I staked out this nicotina flower and was rewarded with an image I am quite proud of. AS much as I love multi-flash hummingbird photography it is really sweet when natural light shots work out :-)

Hi Folks, Just keep whatever camera you have handy and closeby. You will be in the right place and sooner or later be in the right tim/place to take a pic sooner or later!!! Then take many of them; and you can delete or PP them at your own time!

My advice (that I don't always keep) is to have a camera with you at all times. Too, it does not have to be an expensive DSLR, with all the bells and whistles, but it can be a little Point and Shoot, or a Bridge camera.

The Fact is that keep a camera with you at ALL TIMES. You may come upon something extra-ordinary that you might have wanted a pic of!
