Jul 20: Found the owls!

The manager of the sanctuary was leading a guided tour with a small group of folks. I happened to be around practicing shooting flying swallows...with not much success...again :cryin: Then the group stopped a few feet behind me, and I heard the manager said: "There's the great horned owl." The owls were yards away behind me.


One of them could be one of the parents. Don't know. May be you can tell me.

I'm pretty sure this is the young one. It was about a foot or so above the water.

The lighting condition was far from ideal. They were back-lit to begin with. The one on the tree was obviously in the shadows. Tried to fix them..I think the second one turns out pretty OK So, not awarding winning photos for sure; just some birding shots.

Yup, they saw me.

And yes, the young ones have been flying around for a while now.
