    Young Northern Flicker taking a bath

    I found this little guy sitting on a rock in a pond tonight. I hope he makes it out of the pond before a snapper gets him.

    Nice shots. It does look forlorn sitting in the water, hope it got out and dried off.

    Looks like this young flicker didn't make it. Walking around the pond this afternoon, I found what was left of a young flicker, about 30 feet or so from where I took these photos.
