Animals of Iceland (Pics Included)

Spent a few weeks in Iceland in 2010 and thought I'd share a few shots of their local wildlife.

First off, the puffins..

That third shot on the black background is spectacular.

Next up, the Arctic Tern.. These guys were nesting all over this one stretch of beach and had chicks running everywhere. And because of that they were very aggressive.

Arctic Sparrow?

He was very shy and even harder to capture on film.

Sheep were quite abundant on the island and out number the human population 20 to 1..

What a great photo op that trip made! Those puffins are really something...so do they taste like chicken? Great series of some unique critters.

They tasted nothing like chicken. They were quite unique in flavor, but not in a bad way.

Very nice images, Kokopeli! Seems there were quite a few wildlife species despite the namesake (I've never been there and don't know that much about it).

I love puffins! To look at - never had one for lunch. Did you really eat one? What do they have, a roadside vendor or something?

I am so jealous of your photos of Iceland! I went in November and my photos are not nearly as spectacular. These make me want to go back and try again.

These are some amazing images. Love those puffins(won't eat one though) and those horses are so beautiful.

Thanks for the ID on the bunting. I know mine was incorrect, but at least it sounded good. lol

Hopefully I will find more wild things to post over here sooner rather than later.
