A little review of my website please? ;)

A little background - i'm a professional photographer who makes most of my money from shooting real estate photos and virtual tours. I also do custom photography shooting pets, people, musicians, landscape, flowers, etc which I sell in galleries and restaurants and on the web.

Basically, my site is geared to the virtual tours and real estate services, everything else is just extra. I just want to make sure it's easy to understand and navigate. I made it easy for agents to purchase tours online and see samples of the tours (you'd never believe how challenging it really is to do proper real estate photography and tour shooting!).

    Hi Janie,

I was just checking out your site, and I think it looks pretty good. One thing I noticed tho was when I click on the View Tours link (right above the Delux Tour Package on the home page) it takes me to the FAQ page. I was expecting to go to a page with some virtual tours on it. I did find the tours on the Real Estate Services page, but it took a bit longer. Other than that, I think the sight seems pretty straight forward.

That's odd since it worked for the person above! Is it not working for anyone else other than peter?

Works now, might have been an Internet technical hiccups. The router pointing to you site might have been down at the time.

    Leave the following out

We believe the best way to achieve this goal is to invest in quality equipment and gain the knowledge required to perform the services required of us.

Sounds like you haven't acheived it yet with that statement.

typo noticed as well left side near the bottom

Compared to traditional homebuyers, internet users view fewers homes before making a purchase

should read fewer homes, not fewers homes

You say this twice at the top of the paragraph and then when finishing the paragraph

It’s like hosting an Open House 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

    Is this repetious marketing statergy

    Another typo

Save Time And Money: Oour tours

    let you work it out.

360o you need to superscript the o up, you can do that using alt 0176 to put it in °

    next page

put a paragraph break inbetween these paragraphs.

agents and businesses. We invest in the best

    again bottom of left side.

Do you only custom mat, or do you frame as well, you don't mention framing on the Photography link page.

Hope that helps a bit. Otherwise it looks good, loads fast from what I saw of the site, will look again when I have more time.

Re: A little review of my website please? ;)

Hi Janie, here are a couple more mistakes I spotted:

In the real estate services section:

1 the little square showing you what section you're in is in the middle of the text (overlapping), and same goes for the triangle when you hover over that section

Interactive: Viewers choose what rooms whey want to see at their own leisure
    change whey to they

Superior imaging: Paragraph should have a full stop like all the others

*An effective marketing tool: last sentence: the world’s largest one-stop real estate shop
ther's a huge gap between estate and shop which should be closed down

I know a few of these are nit picking but I know for a fact that these little details can improve a website site's rating from viewers. All in all I think you've done a very good job

    Hope this helps

So what, you think no one would know you here because it's a different forum than Viewfinder??? (Said in my best old Jewish man voice...) ;)

Your site looks good. Seems to me it's a little more anticeptic (read: business-like) than an earlier version I remember, but then again, you're in business, so I understand.

Only picky point with me is the link to your home page ON your home page. A design no-no in my book, but I think some templates do that automatically...

Well, no, it's fine to have the button, but the link should be disabled. Actually, each menu link should be disabled on its own page. IOW, there should be no buttons that link to the page that you're already on...

Yes this is true, but sometimes the software you are using actually makes this a bit hard to do, especially with DHTML and Java scripts that are used to design menus etc.

Yeah, I remember you mentioning that, so I take it into account now and figure sometimes it can't be helped. Like I said, a picky thing...
