    Wrong colors in photoshop.

I just did a couple test shots in my new studio and noticed the vast color difference I see from windows to photoshop. I did a print-sceen of the same image in each to capture this difference. Can someone tell me how to correct this? The true colors of the bottles are the first set.

    From windows viewer:

    Articus what is your workflow.

Settings in Photoshop and how are you viewing them in windows. Is it through Internet Explorer.

If your work space in photoshop is aSRG and you are saving them for the web, then there will be a difference in the profile they are saved at. Takes a bit of tweaking.

Also, how are you calibrating your monitor.

    Re: Wrong colors in photoshop.

All I did was shoot the photo, view it in windows and view it in photoshop, taking print-screens from each view.

It's a default install of photoshop and I haven't changed any settings. It's 8 bit RBG.

I just did a fresh install of windows so my monitor is not yet calibrated but would that make a difference in this situation?

I switched from the embedded sRBG to adobe RBG and the results were even worse. The blue is no better and the red has turned to orange:

    Re: Wrong colors in photoshop.

I just found the solution. There is a profile to match my monitor.

However this only stick for the current image. I got here by going to Image - Mode - Assign Profile.

How can I set this as the default profile?

Click on Edit and look towards the bottom for Color Settings. It is in there, Working Space.

One thing about Adobe RGB - few labs support it. If you use a lab to do your prints, find out what they use and standardize on that.

Are you calibrating your monitor? This is very important and the color differences you see can easily be within the problems you'll have with an uncalibrated monitor. I use Monaco Optix XR but there are other good ones out there too. There's also Adobe Gamma which should get you pretty close, a good start anyway.

I'd make sure the monitor was calibrated (in the light you're going to work in, too) before you start using different color spaces; you're working with too many variables to get consistent results.

I am about to. I just did a fresh install of windows a couple days ago and wiped out my old calibration.
