    Wedding Photography $$$

    Hey Guys,

I have been wanting to establish an idea of rougly how much wedding photographers get paid and I'm hoping someone with the experience and knowledge can help me with this. For example, beggingers could charge $, advanced$$, intermediate$$$ and professionals $$$$, or however you want to put it. What guidelines and recommendations do you guys have in terms of pricing and figuring out the package deals. How do you figure all of that out? How do you present them etc. I guess I need some help with the business aspect of it. What do you do?

    Thanks,

    Armando

If you're just starting out, you might want to consider assisting an established pro. There's a lot going on and you don't want to miss anything - and you can't shoot it over! ;) I know this probably won't help, but I've heard of prices from nothing (or enough to cover expenses) to 10,000 plus. Your local market depends a lot on price as well as your experience and skill.

If you are determined to get going or, like me, get an occasional word of mouth gig, pick up the phone and call 3 or 4 local photographers in your area. Tell them that your daughter is getting married in - let's say the spring of 2006 - and that you would like information on using their services. They will tell you all that you need to know to be "competitively priced."
Too many photo ops; too little time..
