We are all learning here... Please help!

I come every day and read the different threads to learn from people's questions and answers. Often someone will ask a question and others on the forum will take the time to answer or make suggestions. This is what this site is all about.

I don't post very many replies due to lack of knowledge. All to often I read the questions and the suggestions from members here and the thread seems to go for awhile and no more response is given due to the person figuring out the answer on their own or finding the answer they need somewhere else. This is great but it would be very beneficial to everyone if they would come back and share the answer with everyone else.

If it is important enough to ask a question, it seems to me it would be equally important to share the answer when you finally get one.

I started taking college photography courses this week with the hopes that I might learn enough to be able to contribute here myself. Everyone here no matter how much knowledge they have can always learn from the answers to questions or problems IF THEY ARE POSTED, thanks Jeff

    Jeff,

Sometimes there is no diffinitive answer and each person will find their own way, especially when critiquing photo's.

I would never take the answer from anyone when it comes to selecting camera's/lenses/film as they have to be customised to suit your own requirements and capabilities and more importantly cash availability.

However, its nice to know what you think and why you made the decision to do what you did. So from now on I will definately follow up.

I would recommend everyone to fill in the reviews on kit, and not just the techy stuff but with the more important usability, reliability...

I agree that the answer to some posts are just an opinion answer. The main thing I would like to see is the answer to questions like my pictures all have a big X in the middle when I print them, what causes this. If you eventually find out the answer then let everyone here know because we might have that problem some day in the future and will remember what caused it from someone Else's experience that we read about.

Some questions may never get answered but if they do it would be nice to have read about it and have an idea what to do, Jeff

I have had problems with my computer and found the answer by reading about someone else's problem and what they found that caused it. As Johnny Five said in the movie, INPUT, INPUT

Re: We are all learning here... Please help!

I usually try to post a visual example, if I have one, when I critique (only if the photographer allows editing on their images). And when I was trying to master both my on-board flash and external flash I was posting my findings along with my results using visual examples.
I still don't think I have mastered it but I am much better than I was that's for sure!
Sometimes I think practise really does make perfect.
