    Simple Question about Lenses

Hi, I just began my interest in photography and am using a Canon Powershot S1 (I was told it was good for amateurs)

    So here's my question

What do the numbers mean when I'm searching for a teleconverter lens?
And how do I now if a lens is is compatible with my Powershot S1 using the Lens Adapter LA-DC52E?

    Re: Simple Question about Lenses

You mean the 1.6x? That's mow much longer the focal length will be. If it was 22mm, it will be just over 35mm. If you use a "35mm equivalent" and say it's 100mm without the converter, then it will be 160mm with.

I'm just guessing on what the numbers might be - it's as simple as multiplying whatever the number is by 1.6.
