Question ?'s on Taking Night Photos

Hello all! I am new to this forum - just joined today! I took a photography class my senior year of highschool and got myself hooked. I am now in a college photo class & I have an assignment I could use some help with. Our photo assignment this week is night photos. I was looking for some info on line & can't really find anything. We are using 35mm SLR cameras w/o flash. Any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate any info anyone can spare!

Wrong forum, but don't sweat it...

Unless, of course, you're talking about night shots in the STUDIO...

Welcome to the site, DS. Don't worry, we'll move your thread to the Help Forum. There are a lot of folks that shoot at night, so I'm sure you'll get some good tips...

Check a few threads below, this info might help depending on what you're trying to shoot. Any more specifics on what you want to do?

you might need a light meter.
Lots of meters on cameras dont work real good in the dark.
Sometimes you might have to go hit a miss

    Good luck

Thanks Steve - I don't spend much time on forums - but this one is great! Once you moved me I found a ton of info that helped from previous posts. Thank you!

Re: ?'s on Taking Night Photos

I have read alot of posts you have put up on shooting night photos - that have been a tremendous help. I wrote down alot of info from previous posts & hopefully all goes well. I just purchased my SLR in September & have never tried night shots - but with the info I have found here, I feel a lot more confident than I did previously! Thanks!
