    photos flipped wrong way :-/

if i take a picture sideways my camera (i have a nikon d60) rotates it automatically, so that when i look at the picture on both my camera and the software on my computer it's the right way round. however, when i upload these pics on to the internet to show friends (on facebook, myspace etc.), they come out flipped the wrong way! how can i get them to come out the right way? even when i go back to the photo on my software and flip it back and forth it still always comes out flipped the wrong way when i upload it. help anyone?

My guess is that you need to save it in the correct position on your computer and then take it from where you saved the correct orientation of the photo and send it to facebook, Jeff

Grandpaw make a good point. If you load the jpeg straight from the camera to a website or embed it in email it is only 'marked' to be rotated.

You can rotate the image even in Windows with the Picture and Fax Viewer with the arrows at the bottom. All editing and processing software has some variation of rotate/flip commands. If you are in a separate program you may even want to re-size as well as rotate. That will save email space or allow more images to be uploaded more rapidly! Just be sure to use the fixed photograph!

Hope this helps. Welcome to Photography Review!

You need to actually save the image in it's new configuration. It won't do it automatically.

I use Thumbs plus, and you have to rotate the photo and then resize for face book then save the photo, but don't over write your original.
