    olympus help

    anyone familar with e500 and fl-36 flash? I have both and my flash recovery is very slow (10 seconds). I shoot auto or portrait mode. Why is recovery slow? can it be adjusted?

    What kind of batteries are you using? If your using alkaline batteries, try switching to high output rechargeable nickel-metal hydride or lithium batteries.

    I agree.

    The fl36 is not a super powerful flash, but it should recharge in less than 10 seconds. If you are using brand-new NiMH rechargeables or good lithium batteries, try using a higher ISO setting or a wider aperture (smaller F/stop number). Those two things will allow the flash to use less power per exposure so it will recharge faster.
