im lost. any help would be great, thanks.

and regarding the search for a superzoom, im looking for something hopefully under $100, that will obviously zoom much better than the standard lens that came with my camera.

(im not used to equipment jargin quite yet, so, basic terminology is appreciated. and links even more-so.:blush2: )

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you're not going to find a decent superzoom for under $100 unless it's fallen of the back of a lorry. For example a Sigma 18-250 zoom is $440 at B&H.

The ebay item you're thinking about is an additional lens that screws into the filter mount at the front of your existing lens to give a wider angle / fisheye effect.

They have a novelty value, and will give half decent results provided you stop the main lens down to f11 or smaller, but you are unlikely to see many pictures taken with one.

Pass on those ebay fish-eyes. Set that $100 aside and save up some more money. In the meantime, research some more to find the lens you want. Buying cheapo lenses is just about as good as throwing your money away. I went cheap when I first started out. Twice. The first lens I went cheap on best serves as a paperweight, and the second one I was lucky enough to give away. It took me a long time to save up for and accumulate the small handful of lenses that I have now, but at least I'm getting my monies worth. They'll still be with me long after the current camera bodies are junkers..
