olympus c170

ive recently got a olympus c170 digital camara, and i have a cd rom with it called olympus master, but everytime i try and install it, it says intsallation terminated prematurely(that critical stop noise comes up aswell)

anyone know why it does this?

its kind of annoying, i want my pics from my camara onto my pc, and thats the software i need!

I don't recognize the name of your camera. So I'm guessing it's old. My guess is that your computer operating system and the software aren't compatible. Try downloading the newest version of the software from the Olympus Web site - if you have a reasonably current operating system on your computer.

Even better - get a card reader. You'll find a lot of us on this site don't ever connect our cameras directly to the computer. We use card readers to download directly from the camera's memory card. This is a lot easier and doesn't require you to waste your camera batteries to download your photos. I've also found that a lot of digital camera software is pretty troublesome. Card readers are very simple and usually there's no software installation necessary. You just plug it into your USB port, insert the card, and it shows up as a new drive on your computer.

it says i need at least 300MB of hard disk space, and i have 42.9 gb, is that enough?

and do you know where to find out how much RAM you have? thanks
