    N80-F80 v.s. Maxxum 7

    My problem is that I have a maxxum 7 and a nikon d70. I like the d 70.
How does the nikon 80 cmpare to the max 7?
And what is the difference between the f and n designations.
    Thanks, any help is appreciated.
    Mark.

Well, first the F and N designation doesnt really mean anything. In the US its an N80, outside the US its a F80. I think the maxxum 7 has a couple more features than the n80, like a large lcd on the back that shows the exposure data for each zone in its matrix meter, which is pretty cool. It also allows for mid roll changes fairly easily. It seems to have more 'pro' features. I do not think it is in production anymore though. The N80 and the D70 are about exactly the same in size and control placement as far as I could tell. Ive got a n80 and its very easy to use.

    Thank you tech..,
One of the main reasons I like the d70 is that when I raise the flash, it is automaticly set to fill flash.(as long as its not in the green prog mode). with the maxx7 I have to adjust the comp dial and then remember to set it back. I feel tha I have to put the exposure mode in manual in order to know it will work right.

I can't really comment on the flash as I've used it..twice? I've heard a lot of good things about the flash system as a whole, but I've not had any chance to make use of it yet.
