Multiple Photos in one--- help me out please please please (x post)

    X-Post
Okay I was at a MX race and took photos where you can 3 shots a second and I want to merge the rider onto one photo so it will show the ride ___ times going off the jump etc. like this

So is there and free or relativel cheap or even expensive software out there that can do this? Thanks for your help.

There is probably several software options for this type of work, Adobe Photoshop is the one that I would use. If you took all of the shots from the same location, and didn't move the camera it would be pretty easy:

    1) Bring all the photos into one file, each on their own layer, and choose one photo as your background image.

    2) Then, using masks, hide all of the images above that background image, except for where you see the rider in a new location.

You can get pretty detailed with masks in Photoshop. Basically what they do is where you paint black on the mask it lets you see through to the layer beneath, and where you paint white it will show what you have on that current layer. Let me know if you have any more questions.

The only Photo Software I currently have is The Gimp. I tried over lapping them but evidently the camera did move the slightest ammount giving it a non-clear photo. I have used PhotoStitch from Cannon to make panoramics all tied together into one shot so is there a program like that which does it for you? Thanks for your help.

It looks like "The Gimp" has layers as well. If you loaded each photo onto its own layer, you could erase all but the biker in a new position and pretty much move it to any location you want, if you were detailed enough with your erasing. As far as I know there is no program that will automatically put these photos together into a single shot for you. PhotoStitch might work for you, if you sliced the photos you wanted put together so they just showed the biker in one area at a time. Sorry, no easy way around it. Everything I know requires you to work for it.

It may be a little aggravating at first, but you can do it in gimp. Here is a tutorial http://www.gimpguru.org/Tutorials/BlendingExposures/ . Just about anything photoshop can do, so can gimp. Post the results so we can see!
