    Re: How many pictures.

All depends on what size of memory card you get. For a 4 megapixel camera, the card sizes/pictures ratio is something like this. Usually for a 4 MP camera, each photo is roughly 2 MB on highest quality. Thus, if you had a 256 MB card, roughly 128 pictures could be taken. With a 512 card, 256 pictures and so on. If you don't use the highest quality, the amount of pictures can also vary greatly. Noticing that the stock card that comes with the camera is only 16 MB, that's only 8 pictures on highest quality, so, as always, buying a bigger memory card is a necessity.

Right - usually the camera itself doesn't hold any images, that's what the cards are for. How much you shoot will determine how big a card you need and those estimates look about right to me - maybe a little conservative though.

I'd always recommend shooting in the highest quality mode unless there's some reason you don't need to (quick shot to email someone, etc). A bigger image file lets you print bigger and crop more. Easier to make a smaller copy later than try to make it bigger later!

I have a Kodak EasyShare CX7300. It's a 3.2mp p&s and it will hold about 16 photos at full resolution without a memory card. At the lowest setting I think it will hold around 40 or so shots. We don't use it enuf to justify getting a card for it.
