    D70 Battery help

Is it okay to recharge the stock battery that came with the D70 before it is fully depleted? I am concerened about shortening the battery life if iI do this, but I relly don't want to go out with less than full power. I carry the AA and adapters as back up, but would rather shoot with the stock battery.

Thanks for any response. - Joe

The leaflet that came with the battery says to completely discharge the battery if you know its not going to be used for a long period of time and also once a year. Also not to try to recharge a fully-charged battery. Apart from that - I don't think Lithium-Ion batteries have "memory" so I guess you're OK.

I was naturally assuming that the Lithium-ion batteries had a memory but the following article prove me wrong: http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo-34.htm

To sum it up; It appears that fully discharging the battery every one in a while is a good thing to do so the meter of the battery recalibrate itself to give an accurate reading but it is better not to wait that the battery is fully discharged to charge it on a regular basis.

Personally, I always keep a back up battery in my bag just in case. It saved me more than once.

    regards

Thanks to Seb for reassuring us on that one.

Just one thing - I didn't think that there was an adapter for AA batteries. The adapter that came with mine takes three CR2 Lithium-ion batteries.
(Edit : Unless by AA you mean "Automobile Adapter". OK that makes sense)

I am severely paranoid about not having enough batteries-no juice=no camera=paper weight. I keep 4 extra batteries at all times in the camera bag myself, and the charger with a power inverter in the car.

    Re: AA adapter?

You are correct Charles...it is a CR2 adapter. My F100 had the AA adapter. Sorry 'bout that. Thanks for all the responses.
