    Question Canon IXUS 40 Help

    Hello, i need help with my Canon Ixus 40, sometimes when i switch on my camera to take a picture or record a video, the screen shoes up black i cant take a picture or anything, i try to put it on night mode and stuff but it dont seem to work.

    It was at night time but there was quite alot of light about but still it showed up as black, i can see the pictures i have allready taken but i cant take none. can someone please help me with this problem.

    God damn someone must have some idea on how to fix this....When i switch the camera on the Lens open the Batery is charged....COME ON

    Sounds like either the switch is broken and not turning the sensor on, or the sensor is broken. Either way, you're probably going to have to send it in to Canon, as consumer electronics don't really lend themselves to do-it-yourself repairs....Hopefully it's still under warranty.

    Yeah i brought it a few weeks ago, but the only problem is my mother brought this from Hong Kong and i live in the UK, will this effect anything?
    And also will there be a charege to send it to them to fix? Thanks.

    i know its a bit obvious but have you tried pressing the display button.

    did you try to push the "display" bouton ?
    because if you touch it you can switch of the screen so maybe this is the way to fix the problem...

    EDIT : I've just seen you've already try this solution sorry...
